The Latin American Postgraduate Programme in History of Religions (PPHR) comprises two phases:
Phase 1
(January 2026): the Latin American
Master’s
Programme in History of Religions
(MPHR)
Phase 2
(January 2028): the Latin American
Doctoral
Programme in History of Religions
(DPHR)

Structure of the Latin American Master's Programme in History of Religions (MPHR)
The Latin American Master’s Programme in History of Religions (MPHR) is structured based on:
Active, Critical, Collaborative and Transdisciplinary Learning (ACCTL)
Hybrid Digital Learning [B-Learning]
Duration
of the Master’s Programme: 4 Quarters
Time dedication:
Master’s Programme Students must formally commit to full-time dedication
Maximum period to finish studies:
six consecutive academic Quarters (3 years)
Quarterly Propaedeutic Courses
(introductory):
Science, society, state and religion [Digital Learning]
English language (intermediate/advanced))

4 mandatory courses and an Advanced Research Seminar (preparation of the Degree Thesis)
Quarters 3 y 4:
4 elective courses and an Advanced Research Seminar (preparation of the Degree Thesis)
4 Advanced Research Seminars (preparation of the Degree Thesis)
Classes per week:
5 sessions of 90 minutes each per week [Tuesday 4:00-8:30pm, Thursday 4:00-7:00pm
4 Digital Learning Sessions (virtual), 90 minutes each per week
Academic Cycle:
August to November and February to May
Cohort:
20 students per group (maximum) [80% estimated terminal efficiency]
Professors-Researchers:
local Professors and International Visiting Professors
Cost of the Master’s Programme:
4 Quarterly Registration Fees of US$150 and 24 monthly fees of US$150
Financial Support:
4 PMHR students are expected to have access to funds to cover their tuition and living expenses
Each student is assigned an
Academic Advisor
from among the PMHR professor-researchers.
